Drogheda Boys u10 B 4 v 0 Leicester Celtic (u10 D)

This game was a credit to both sets of players as it was played in atrocious conditions. Drogheda Boys were under severe pressure in the first half and only for the combination of brilliant goalkeeping and sterling defensive display the score remained 0-0 until 5 minutes before half-time, when a thunderous 20 yard shot from Harry flew into the Leicester net. A brilliant midfield display ensured Drogheda Boys total dominance in the second half. A solo effort from Jamal made the score 2-0 and shortly after a great through ball ensured the third goal. Our last goal came from a sweeping move and Ryan safely tucked the ball into the corner of the net to make it 4-0. Leicester converted a penalty with minutes to go. As Leicester Celtic are one of the fancied teams in this division it just shows what a tremendous display and great team effort was displayed to overcame this strong Leicester Celtic. Well done Lads!
