Sports capital funding sought for new clubhouse
Drogheda Boys / Girls FC have applied for the maximum amount of Sports Capital funding available in the recent round of grant applications 2021.

A huge amount of work has been done to give the club the best chance of gaining maximum points on the application.

The facility will be better situated at the entrance to Marley's Lane and will consist of four modern dressing rooms, multiple male/female toilet areas, referee area, education room and will be wheel-chair accessible.

With a modern and safe facility at the club, it is expected to see a huge growth of players joining our girls section which will see the player numbers at our club increase to almost 500 players.

It will also see the introduction of walking-football for the over 50's.

The club has also signed licence agreements with Youth Work Ireland and the Drogheda Late Night League which will see both organisations use the facility on a regular basis.

It is hoped that the results of Sports Capital funding will be released towards the end of 2021 and work can begin the following year.

This will be the first phase of the Marley's Lane development plan, other phases include
-
Building of new car park
-
Development of high quality natural grass main pitch.
-
Development of 4g Astro Pitch
