Boys Representing DDSL

17th March 2016

We may only be in the thrid year of Rory Kerr's role as Drogheda Boys Director of Football, but we are already seeing the benefits of the hardwork being put in by both Rory and all coaches at the club.

It only takes a short trip to Marley's Lane on any given Saturday or Sunday and you will notice that the level of skill on show is improving season on season, week on week. And more imprtantly, you can't help but see the smiles on players faces, from our kindergartners to our u17s, as they enjoy playing football and representing Drogheda Boys each week.

But it's not only the coaches, players, and parents who have taken note of the quality of football taking place at Marley's Lane. The DDSL representative teams are now regularly calling up our players to represent their teams.

The u16 DDSL Representative side recently played the Wicklow League Team and no less than four Drogheda Boys players made the squad. Malik Luzha, Harry Hogan, Tristan Knowles, and Adam O'Mara.

In a comfortable 6 nil victory for the DDSL team Malik started the game with Harry came on at half time. Both Tristan and Adam were given time to impress on the pitch during the second half also. All four represented Drogheda Boys well.

Meanwhile, at our u13 age group we have also had success in players being asked to represent the DDSL.

Niall Wall's Drogheda Boys u13 team saw both Josh Wall and Michael Soyemi recently called up. Both lads have prefermed exceptionally well for their team this season and were rewarded for their efforts with a call up from the DDSL.

And finally, from Graham Campbell's u11 team, both Samuel Soyemi and Eric Beliauskas recently lined out for the DDSL against the Drogheda League.

As with all other recent call ups, both lads represented the club brilliantly, with Sami getting on the scoresheet and Eric hitting the post.
